Summer art placement 2024
RIBA-ROJA D’EBRE MURAL
For the whole of august I undertook an art placement with Riba Rocks in a remote town around 2 hours from Barcelona. During this placement I attended artists talks, workshops, collaborated with other University of Southampton students on a mural, visited local historical landmarks and volunteering at a local nature reserve.
Run by Riba Rocks the Riu d’art Open Air Gallery includes murals created by international and local artists. There are more than 35 works located all around Riba Roja d’Ebre and are permanent.
For two weeks of my art summer placement 4 other University of Southampton students and I got to paint our own mural and include it in this collection of works, which is really exciting. To leave a part of my work in the village that had a huge impact on myself is truly an honor.
